Matt opened Dugan’s Sports Performance as founder and CEO in the summer of 2007. He has since trained a variety of female and male athletes from high school to the professional level. He trains athletes in sports such as: golf, volleyball, baseball, basketball, football, softball and swimming. DSP uses his knowledge to initially fix kinetic chain, core deficiencies, and flexibility issues that may be preventing the athlete to function at their maximum potential. This will then allow him to establish a functional foundation in which every athlete need to compete at an elevated level in their sport. Once these foundations are in place, DSP continues to build strength through external forces; using weights, medicine ball, cords, dumb bells, or just simple body weight exercises. Through this type of training, DSP is able to help athletes better prepare themselves for their respective sport. DSP highly believes in educating athletes to understand movement and injury prevention. If all athletes have a better understanding of how to train to perform on the field, the athlete will have more of a chance to succeed.
DSP has also worked with medical doctors to help better understand the rehabilitation following surgeries as a result of sports injuries. Teaming up with doctors has allowed DSP to better accommodate their athletes if an injury occurs. For more information detailing the resources uses see page DSP Professional Team.
Matt Dugan has also teamed up with the Elite Combine Services as an Elite National Field Director. Matt works to evaluate and asses the talent of the football players at these combines for NFL, Arena League, and other professional General Managers. Matt helps set up drills and execute these drills to look for the abilities of these athletes. Matt’s knowledge and experience with these combines has given him another avenue of knowledge and skill sets to help DSP train and mentor kids as to what the next level teams are looking for on specific drills, weight, body type, and other characteristics.
